Edward F. Furman, 85, of Noxen, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Wilkes-Barre on Sunday, May 28, 1939, a son of the late John Sr. and Margaret Washick Furman.
Edward was retired from the Teamsters.
He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He took great pride in the appearance of his home, always making sure the grass was cut. Edward could often be found sitting on his back porch.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Pearl Sepnefski, and a son-in-law, Dwayne Kalinay.
Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Shirley Smurl Furman; five children, Edward Furman Jr (Kim), Luzerne, Charlene Coombs (Brian), Lehman, Cindy Manzoni (Danny), Chase, Doreen Kalinay, Harveys Lake, and Keith Furman (Charlene), Albrightsville; twelve grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; a brother, John Furman (Regina), Kingston; numerous cousins including, Richie Dydynski, with whom he was very close with.
Following Edward's wishes, there will be no formal services.
