Eleanor “Ellie” M. Schascheck, 96, of Summerfield, FL passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, August 21st at Cornerstone Hospice and Palliative Care in The Villages, FL.
Ellie was born in Lykens on June 4, 1928 to the late Tyrus and Estella Snyder. She was a graduate of the former Lykens High School.
Ellie worked in the garment factory industry before her retirement. She then traveled before settling in Florida where she made many friends and enjoyed playing cards a few days a week along with her weekly bingo night. She was proud that she was still able to live alone and drive. She also had a very sharp memory and loved reminiscing about the good ole days.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Robert Snyder, her husband Ted, a son Robert “Bobby” Kohler, and grandson James “ Jimmy” Rodichok.
She is survived by her sons, Larry Komernicky (Sue) Litchfield Park, AZ, David Kohler (Cindy) Camp Hill, and daughters Elaine Rodichok (James) Tower City and Brenda Bordner (John) Stokesdale, NC. Ellie is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren a niece and nephews.
Ellie will be laid to rest privately in St. John’s Cemetery, Berrysburg.
Donations can be to any hospice in her honor.
