Elvin A. Rotharmel, Jr., 69, a longtime resident of Berrysburg, currently of Tower City, passed away Monday, February 2, 2026 at the Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill, with his family by his side.
Born in Harrisburg on February 12, 1956, a son of the late Elvin Sr. and Blanche Lubold Rotharmel. Elvin was a 1975 graduate of Upper Dauphin High School.
Elvin was a long time retired employee of Waste Management.
He was a very active and lifetime member of the Berrysburg Fire Company where he served with the fire police. He also was a member of the Short Mountain Gun Club.
Elvin was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and gardening. He had a knack for collecting "junk" which he considered treasures. Elvin was a jack of all trades and could fix almost anything that was asked of him. He always looked forward to picnics with his family and friends.
Surviving are his wife, Lisa A. Schlegel Rotharmel, to whom he was married for 40 years; a son, Charles Rotharmel, Williamstown; four daughters, Melissa Rotharmel, Williamstown, Ashley Bryant (Dana), Williamstown, Rebecca Lenig (Daniel), Herndon, and Katie Bachir (Moustapha), Carlisle; twelve grandchildren; a sister, Sherry Ward, Lykens.
A Celebration of Elvin's Life will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Tower City. Visitation will be from 10-11 at the chapel.
