Frederick T. Mortimer III., 67, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away suddenly, Thursday, October 24, 2024 at his home.
Born in Bethesda, Maryland on April 1, 1957, Fred was the son of the late Frederick II and Zena Comacho Mortimer. He was a graduate of Walter Johnson High School.
Fred was of the Catholic faith.
He was a proud United States Navy veteran.
Following his time in the military, Fred worked as a restaurant manager in the DC and Maryland area. He and his wife eventually opened up their own business where they refinanced mortgages. Most recently, he worked for the Social Security Administration, retiring in 2022.
He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed the Washington Redskins. Fred liked to stay active and could often be found riding his bike and going golfing. He also enjoyed cooking and listening to live music. His taste in music ranged from small local bands to the Beatles.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Mortimer, January 2, 2011.
He is survived by his sister, Carol Ulsh and her husband Kerry, Tower City; a nephew, Aaron Ulsh, Tower City; a niece, Lyndsey Ulsh and her partner Will Minnig, Wilberton; great nieces and nephews, Liam, Levon, Daisy, and Mack.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Tower City. He will be laid to rest in the St. Peter's Cemetery, Tower City.
