George R. Frew, Jr., 74, of Tower City, passed away Monday afternoon, October 30, 2023 after a lengthy illness while a resident of the Gardens of York Terrace, Pottsville.
He was born in Pottsville, June 8, 1949, a son of the late George Frew, Sr. and Helen Russel Frew Heintzleman.
George was a retired machinist.
He enjoyed camping and listening to oldies music.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Karen; two brother-in-laws, Truman Swab Jr. and David Moyer Sr.
He is survived by his two sons, George R. Frew III, Camp Hill, and Mike Frew (Jennifer), Frostproof, FL; two stepsons, Chris Kaster (Karla), Middletown, and Daniel Sparks (Melissa), Morganton, NC; five sisters, Georgina Moyer, Spring Glen, Helen Miller, Wiconisco, Luana Butensky (Bob), Branchdale, JoLynne Fenstermacher, Tower City, and Donna Hubler (Chet), Lykens; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
George will be laid to rest privately at the convenience of the family in the St. Peter's Cemetery, Orwin, with Pastor Amanda Bressler officiating.
