Grace A. Shuttlesworth, 91, of Williamstown, went home to be with the Lord peacefully early Tuesday morning, July 30, 2024.
Grace was a lifelong resident of Williamstown, born on December 16, 1932, a daughter of the late Jacob and Verna McNeal Miller. She was a 1950 graduate of Williamstown High School.
Grace assisted her late husband with their former business, James E. Shuttlesworth Insurance Agency, where she served as the secretary and prepared income taxes.
Grace was currently an active member of the Twin Valley Alliance Church, Williamstown. She taught Sunday school for over sixty years in several churches and was active with the choirs.
She was a former member and past president of the Williams Valley School Board.
Grace's life revolved around her family. Her granddaughters meant the world to her. She could often be found going for her daily walks around Williamstown.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in by her husband of 55 years, James "Squirt" Shuttlesworth, 2011, and her sister Margaret Washborne.
Surviving are her children Nancy Shuttlesworth-Marquette, Coatesville, and James A. Shuttlesworth and his wife Beth, Williamstown; two granddaughters, Shannon Shuttlesworth Esq., Pittsburgh, and Jamie Shuttlesworth, Philadelphia.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM from Twin Valley Alliance Church, Williamstown with her Pastor Joel McGarvey officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11. A luncheon and time of fellowship will immediately follow in the church social hall. Private burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Williamstown.
