Grace M. Sweigard, 79, of Millersburg, passed away peacefully, Sunday evening, May 5, 2024 at Lehigh Valley Medical Center, Allentown.
Born in Upper Paxton Township, January 23, 1945, a daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth Hoffman Ditty. Grace was a 1962 graduate of Millersburg High School where she was the salutatorian of her class.
She was a long time employee of Mid Penn Bank, Millersburg, where she retired as Head of the Proof Department.
Grace was a faithful member of Free Grace Brethren In Christ Church, Millersburg, and also attended the Hebron United Methodist Church, Millersburg.
Grace had a passion for always thinking of others and was well known for sending cards to her family, friends, and church family. She looked forward to her lunch dates with her former coworkers and friends. Grace enjoyed her trips to Disney World and was an avid reader. Every night her and her husband could be found doing puzzles together, a hobby Grace and Bill greatly enjoyed. Above all else, her family, especially her grandchildren, were her world.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Novinger, and Mary Ellen and Lois Ditty.
Surviving are her beloved husband, William T. Sweigard, with whom Grace would have celebrated 56 years of marriage on June 1; two children, Cheryl D. Vaclavik and her husband Steven, Dallastown, and Thomas A. Sweigard, Millersburg; two grandchildren, Alexander Vaclavik, Pittsburgh, and Sarah Vaclavik, Dallastown; a sister, Shirley Longabach, Elizabethville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held, Friday May 10, 2024 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Tower City, with Pastor David Tietje officiating. Viewing will be from 10-11 at the chapel. Grace will be laid to rest in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Rife.

The Hackerman Patz House provides housing for families with loved ones in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.
