Gregory Readinger Obituary

Gregory P. Readinger, 70, of Hegins, formerly of Williamstown, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville after a yearlong courageous battle with cancer.

Greg was born in Williamstown on Sunday, August 14, 1955, a son of the late Joseph and Anna Hentz Readinger.

He was a 1973 graduate of Williams Valley High School.

Greg was a retired longtime employee of Metal Industries where he worked as an electrician.

He will be remembered for his outgoing and upbeat personality. Greg had the ability to talk to anyone and everyone, making more friends than one could count. He was known for his koi ponds that he took great pride in, and he could often be found doing projects around his home. Greg had a huge heart for children, always going above and beyond for any child in need. He always enjoyed when children in the valley would visit his large collection of blow-up decorations during the Christmas season.

He was a simple man, who wore the title of husband, dad, and pap as a badge of honor. Without a doubt, his family was the center of his world. Greg was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren and would often share what was going on in their lives. He never missed attending all of his grandchildren's activities and he enjoyed keeping up with life events on social media. Greg will be remembered for his constant positive outlook on life and his one-of-a-kind jokes. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 47 years, Mary Lou Unger Readinger; his two sons, Gregory J. Readinger and his wife Tiffany, and Matthew D. Readinger both of Hegins; his daughter, Mary A. Readinger and her partner, Adam Green, Shrewsbury; his pride and joy, his grandchildren, Connor, Logan and Mckenzie Readinger; his siblings, Joseph Readinger and his wife Marie, Williamstown, John Readinger, Williamstown, Rosemary Eshleman and her husband Rufus, Wiconisco, Michael Readinger and his wife Karen, Tower City, Elieen Knorr, wife of the late Robert, Williamstown, and Ann Romberger and her husband Gary, Williamstown; brother-in-law, Thomas Unger, Wiconisco; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
