Helen L. Keen, 96, of Wiconisco, passed away Saturday morning, June 24, 2023 at Heritage Mills Personal Care Home.
Helen was born in Wiconisco, August 20, 1926, daughter of the late Daniel and Carrie Williams Miller. She was a graduate of the former Wiconisco High School and then joined the local manufacturing company, Reiff & Nestor Company of Lykens, PA where she eventually became supervisor of its billing department. Helen was married to the late Howard S. Keen who passed away in 1989. She eventually became the long-time companion of the late Clarence “Tom” Williams of Tower City. For many years, she and Tom enjoyed camping at Ferry Boat Campsites in Liverpool. Helen and Tom enjoyed spending time with friends and family. In addition, she enjoyed bowling and loved to cook, and especially enjoyed baking pies for a much-appreciative Tom.
Helen retired from Reiff & Nestor Company in 1992 after working in the billing department for 48 years.
She was an active member of the former Wesley United Methodist Church, Wiconisco and later became a member of the Immanuel/Wesley United Methodist Church, Loyalton.
Helen was also preceded in death by three sisters, Anna Rudisill, Margaret Nolen, and Ruth Rudisill; and two brothers, Daniel and Charles Miller.
Surviving are her son, Howard Keen and his wife, Cindy Loffel of Bala Cynwyd, PA and Ventnor, New Jersey; two grandchildren, Adam Keen and his wife, Sarah of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Sarah Casey (Keen) and her husband, Jordan of Wynnewood, PA and five great grandchildren, Reagan, Declan and Sloane Keen and William and Matthew Casey. She is also survived by nieces and a nephew.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 3, 2023 at 11:00 am from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc., Tower City with Pastor Annette Shutt officiating. A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow at the Brown Jug Restaurant, Tower City. Private burial will be in the Calvary United Methodist Cemetery, Wiconisco.
