James A. "Nuff" English, 78, of Pine Grove, formerly of Tower City, passed away Friday at the Geisinger Medical Center.
Born in Reinerton, September 25, 1940, a son of the late Lloyd and Merle Zimmerman English.
Jim was an Army Veteran during the Vietnam era.
He was a graduate of Porter Tower High School and Williamson Trade School.
Jim was the retired owner of English Masonry.. He was an accomplished mason, who took great pride in his work.
He was of the Methodist Faith, a member of Ashlar Lodge #570 F&AM, Lykens and the Orwin Fire Company.
Jim thought the world of his family. He enjoyed reading and fishing. He was an avid fan of Penn State football and wrestling, and the Philadelphia Phlllies.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Esther Jane Klinger.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Faye Miller English, one son; James English, Jr., and his wife Angie, York; one daughter, Heather Hershey and her husband Kemp, Lititz; one sister, Edith Dreisigacker, Tower City; brother-in-law, Jim Miller, Joliett; five grandchildren he was extremely proud of; James English and his wife Krissy, Jacob English and his wife Katie, Hannah English, Benjamin and Brynn Hershey. One great grandson, Ryan James English. Nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November, 7th at 11:00 am from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc., Tower City with Pastor Annette Shutt and Rev. Dennis Hummel. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Tower City. Viewing will be from 10-11 at the chapel. Memorial donations in Jim's name can be made to the Orwin Fire Co., Dietrich Avenue, Orwin, PA 17980.
