James V. Gaffney, Jr., 86, of Williamstown, passed away peacefully Saturday night, September 28, 2024 at the Select Specialty Hospital, Camp Hill, with his wife and son by his side.
Born on Wednesday, June 26, 1938, a son of the late James Sr. and Clara Breit Gaffney.
Jim was was a dedicated and faithful employee, working as a heavy equipment operator in the construction field for many years.
In his younger years he enjoyed fishing. He will be remembered for always being there for anyone that needed a hand. Jim had a strong work ethic, not only in the construction industry, but in everything he did. This was evident by looking at his property and his woodworking. He was also very mechanically inclined and could fix or build almost anything he set his mind to.
His love for his wife and son were second to none. They meant everything to him, and in turn he meant everything to them. He will be missed beyond words.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Patrick Gaffney and a sister, Joyce Houtz.
Surviving are his wife, Bonnie K. Arnold Gaffney to whom he would have been married to for 59 years on November 13th; his son, whom he was extremely proud of, Rustin A. Gaffney (Alexandria), Williamstown; several nieces and nephews.
The Dimon Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Tower City, has been entrusted with Jim's private services.
