James J. Kennedy, 67, of Williamstown, passed away unexpectedly Monday, February 10, 2025 at his home.
Born in Lykens, Monday, September 2, 1957, a son of the late James and Dolores Zigner Kennedy.
Jim was a 1975 graduate of Williams Valley High School.
He was employed with Lewis Industrial Safety, Harrisburg, a job he held for the past 48 years.
Jim was a former member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Williamstown and the Knight of Columbus, Lykens. He was often seen out and about in the community, belonging to many organizations, including the Orwin Gun Club, Williamstown VFW, Williamstown American Legion, and the Orwin, Williamstown and Wiconisco Fire Companies. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and was active with the NRA, National Turkey Federation, and Ducks Unlimited. He was a skilled dart shooter, belonging to numerous leagues and had played on slow pitch softball teams in his younger years.
Surviving are two sisters, Dolores "Patty" Crum and her husband Sam, Halifax and Karen Doyle and her husband Matt, Williamstown; two brothers, John Kennedy and Timothy Kennedy, both of Williamstown; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 11:00 AM from Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, Lykens with Rev. Michael Opoki, AJ as celebrant. Viewing will be from 10-11 at the church. Jim will be laid to rest beside his parents in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Williamstown. A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow in the Dayton Hall, Dayton Street, Williamstown.
