Janet L. Miller, 69, of Muir passed away peacefully early Monday morning, October 14, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family following a brief illness.
Born in Pottsville on Monday, September 12, 1955, a daughter of the late Walter and Mae Paul Minnich. She was a 1973 graduate of Williams Valley High School.
Janet retired from the Naval Support Activity, Mechanicsburg, where she was employed for over 30 years.
She was a member of the St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Reinerton. She also served as a Judge of Elections for Porter Township and was a volunteer with Paws for a Cause, Tower City.
Janet made her home on Church Street, a place where everyone would want to come together. She could often be found working in her yard, around the pool, or decorating for every season and holiday. Christmas was special to her and she went above and beyond for her family. Janet also loved to travel, whether it be to family beach trips, Disney World, or to Atlantic City.
Without a doubt, her family was the center of her world. She was her children's and grandchildren's biggest supporter. You could always find Janet cheering on her children and grandchildren at any school event or just life in general.
Surviving are her husband, Robert "Fritz" Miller, to whom she would have celebrated 49 years of marriage in November; her two children, Jason Miller and his wife Rhonda, and Heidi Brummett and her husband Brian, both of Muir; a sister, Cindy Minnich, Orwin; a brother Randy Minnich and his wife Sharon, Florida; her grandchildren, Kelsey Suchar and her husband Kyle, Brady and Brenna Miller, and Addyson Brummett. Janet was also eagerly anticipating the birth of her first great grandson in March.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home. Viewing will be from 10-11 at the chapel. Janet will be laid to rest in the St. Peter's Cemetery, Orwin. A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow in the Grace United Methodist Church, Muir.
Memorial donations in her memory can be made to Muir Fire Company, 107 W Church St, Muir, PA 17957.
