Janyce R. VanSickle, 83, of Millersburg, passed away onto her Heavenly home Saturday, July 22, 2023 at the Northern Dauphin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Millersburg.
Born in Harrisburg, November 1, 1939, a daughter of the late Roger and Dorothy (Reese) Schwalm. Janyce was a graduate of the Millersburg High School.
She worked for many years for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Labor and Industry.
Janyce was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Millersburg. Previously, she was a Sunday School teacher and volunteered and served on many committees throughout the years.
Janyce was a woman of faith. Her family was most important to her. She loved to spend time with family and friends and enjoyed baking.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, M. Richard VanSickle, 1998; her brother, Rahn Schwalm, 2015.
Janyce is survived by a sister, Sandra Bell of Millersburg; two nephews, Todd Bell and his wife Kori of Millersburg, and Brent Bell of Halifax; one great niece Karleen Bell of Philadelphia.
The family will receive friends for a Remembrance Service on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at 6:00 pm at the Grace United Methodist Church, Millersburg. Visitation will be from 5-6 pm at the church. A time of refreshment and fellowship will follow in the church social hall following the service. Janyce will be laid to rest at the convenience of the family in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
