Joan Ellenor Merwine, 90, of Williamstown, passed away Monday night, May 9, 2022 at the Northern Dauphin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Tower City, November 17, 1931, a daughter of the late Raymond and Annie Jane Shuey Lubold. Joan graduated on May 25, 1949 from the former Porter Township High School.
She was a retired seamstress from the garment industry.
Joan was confirmed in the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Tower City on September 22, 1946.
She enjoyed playing Bingo and gardening with flowers.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Clement E. Merwine, Sr., a son Ricky R. Merwine, a sister Ruth Patches and an infant brother Raymond Lubold, Jr.
Surviving are her three children, Jacqueline J. Whitcomb (Marlin), Williamstown, Linda L. Flynn, Williamstown and Clement E. "Bud" Merwine (Gina), Elizabethville. Two sisters; Jane Rubendall and Dorothy Schell both of Williamstown. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, always looking forward and enjoyed visits from Michael Elgard (Carla), Marysville, Joseph Elgard, York, Tyler Merwine (Katie), Halifax and great granddaughter, Montana Flynn.
Joan will be laid to rest privately next to her husband at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with Pastor Annette Shutt officiating.
