Joan Y. Orowski, 90, of Lykens, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, October 14, 2025 at the Heritage Mill Personal Care Home, Tower City, with her children by her side.
Joan was born in Lykens on Friday, February 8, 1935, a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Molusky Mahoney.
Joan was a retired seamstress from the former Lebro Shirt Factory, Lykens.
She was a lifelong member of Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, Lykens where she was a member of the Parish Council of Catholic Women.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing puzzles and going shopping. Joan could often be found watching TV and cheering on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Above all, her family was the center of her world. She will be remembered for being a wonderful and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Orowski, 1996, a grandson, Jarrod Orowski, 2017.
Surviving are her two children, Debra Wiest and her husband David, Lykens, Twp., and Michael Orowski and his wife Debra, Lykens; three grandchildren, Heidi Wiest and her husband Dave, Brooke Hendricks and her husband Dave, and Justin Wiest and his wife Ashley; four great grandchildren; Hunter, Faith, Honor, and Blake; a sister, Patricia Ginder, Hershey; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 11:00 am from Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, Lykens with Rev. Michael Opoki, AJ as celebrant. Visitation will be from 10-11 at the church. Joan will be laid to rest along side her husband in the parish cemetery. A luncheon and a time of fellowship will follow at the Dayton Hall, Williamstown.
