Joan M. Wolfe

Joan M. Wolfe, 92, of Lykens, passed away suddenly, Sunday night August 20, 2023 at her home.

Joan was born in Sacramento, August 5, 1931, a daughter of the late Irvin and Ellen Bowman Herman. She was a graduate of Porter-Tower High School.

She worked for many years as a clerk at the former Don's Food Rite and the Shop-N-Play, both in Lykens.

Joan was a member of St. Christopher Lutheran Church, Lykens. She was also a member of the Tower City American Legion Auxiliary and the Lykens Knights of Columbus.

Joan's family was everything to her. Her love for her grandchildren was second to none. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, doing puzzles and going on trips to the casino.  

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two husbands, Harry White and Dale Wolfe; a son Patrick White; a daughter, Cynthia Martino; a grandson, Michael Koppenhaver; a son-in-law, Brent Daniels; a brother, Irvin Herman, Jr.; two sisters, Joyce Evans and Nancy Stong.

Surviving are her two daughters, Tina Daniels, Lykens and Kathy Gibson, Lykens; a brother, George Herman, York; a daughter-in-law, Ellen, Newark, Delaware; son-in-law, Mark Martino, Orlando, Florida; five grandchildren, Bobby Koppenhaver (Stacy), Jenn Daniels (Tanya), Ally Daniels (Alyssa), Jake Daniels (Kim), and Ava Gibson; 8 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.  Niece and nephews.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023 at 11:00 am from St. Christopher Lutheran Church, Lykens. Visitation will be from 10-11 at the church. Private burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.
