John L. Barry, 77, of Tower City, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, July 9, 2023 surrounded by his family at the Hershey Medical Center.
Born in Harrisburg, October 1, 1945, a son of the late Betty Barry. John was a 1965 graduate of the former Williamstown High School. He was a United States Army National Guard Veteran.
John retired from Tyco after working for 35 years as a tool and die repairman.
He attended Twin Valley Alliance Church, Williamstown.
John could often be found walking throughout town or in his garden. He took great pride in the appearance of his yard. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting. Above all else, John will be remembered for being a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather whose family was the center of his world.
In addition to his mother, John was preceded in death by a sister, Rose Monger, and a brother, Robert Barry.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Bonnee McCready Barry; three children, Trisha Barry, Palmyra, John Barry (Denise), Millersburg, and Tori Reed (Steve), Williamstown; six grandchildren, Trevor Graff, Triana Miller (Dave), Travis Graff, Treyson Graff, Trustin Graff, and Matthew Barry (Kirsten); one great granddaughter, Kimberlyn; two sisters, Ann Schreffler, Tower City, and Kathy Lupardus (Harvey), Virginia Beach; a brother, William Dietrich, Halifax; several nieces and nephews.
John will be laid to rest privately in the Fairview Cemetery, Williamstown.
