John E. Lucas

John E. Lucas, 74, of Lykens Township, passed away Saturday morning, September 3, 2022, at the Lebanon VA Medical Center.

Born in Lykens Township, August 18, 1948, a son of the late Charles Jr and Grace Fenstermacher Lucas.

John was a proud United States Marine Corps Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.

He was retired from the United States Postal Service, where he worked as a mail handler.

In his free time, he could be found hunting and trapping.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald, Larry, and Dennis Lucas, and a sister, Mildred Harner.

Surviving are his wife, Linda (Noblit) Lucas to whom he was married on September 18, 1971; three children, Troy Lucas (Swee Wei), Hummelstown, Roger Lucas (Sierra), Lykens, and Vickie Maletteri, Lake Oswego, Oregon; five grandchildren, Evan, Noah, and Joshua Lucas and Mya and Raegan Maletteri; two step-grandchildren, Stetson and Savannah Hartsough; two brothers, Marlin Lucas, Boiling Springs, and Earl Lucas, Wiconisco; five sisters, Gloria Stence, Millersburg, Grace Hess, Millersburg, Shirley Sponsler, Halifax, Linda Herb, Elizabethville, and Annie Hirsch, Lykens.

Services will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Tower City, with Pastor Nancy Brody officiating. Burial with military honors will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-11 at the chapel.
