Joseph Klinger Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph James Klinger, 53, of Lykens announces his unexpected passing on March 12th 2026.

Born August 28th 1972 in Pottsville PA, the son of the late Wilford and Nancy Smith Klinger, Joe grew up in Berrysburg, the youngest of 8 children. He attended UDA School District, and after many years of working for Zemco Tool and Die, Joe became a dedicated and cherished employee of Merakey Human Services where he worked for the past 18 years.

Joe loved music and attending live shows. He especially liked Alice Cooper, Judas Priest, and Ozzy Osbourne. He shared an admiration for David Allan Coe with his brother, Dave, and enjoyed telling the story of meeting Rob Zombie in a hotel courtyard while on a work trip to Ohio.

Joe had a wonderful sense of humor and a contagious smile. He had a passion for cooking, grilling, and was known for lending a hand to anyone who needed it. He will be greatly missed by his mother-in-law, Jane, whom he helped care for. Joe was a kind and patient man who could handle any situation with ease. He'll be remembered by his work buddy Dennis Klinger as always giving the best advice. He loved animals, especially raccoons, and firmly believed he'd be reunited with his faithful dogs who passed before him. Joe leaves behind his beloved cat, Malachi.

In addition to his parents, Joe is now with his Aunt Peggy and Uncle Clair; his sisters, Joy and Jean; his brother, Cliff; his daughter, Christianna; and his cousin Steve.

Joe is survived by his wife of 33 years, Erica Laudenslager-Klinger; his daughters, Amanda and Adele; his son, Jeffrey; his sisters Mary and Joanne; his brothers Dave and Terry; his sister-in-law, Christine; and many nieces and nephews - all whom we loved dearly.

A Celebration of Joe's Life will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Tower City. Viewing will be from 10-11 at the chapel.
