Joyce E. Mione, 91, of Tower City, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, February 17, 2024 at her son's home in Hershey.
Born in Muir, October 18, 1932, a daughter of the late Arthur and Grace Lebo Barry. Joyce was a graduate of the former Tower City High School class of 1950.
Joyce and her late husband were the retired owners of the former Mione's Department Store and Mione's Formal Wear for over 43 years. Joyce also was the owner of Joyce's City News. She was employed as a clerk at the Williams Valley Pharmacy for many years.
She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Chapel, Tower City where was active with the Women's Club and sung in the choir.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Louis A. Mione, 2017; a great grandson, Scott Null III; three sisters, Naomi Grimm, Ruth Wiley and Ida Mae Kissinger.
Surviving are her four children, Louis Mione and his wife Kim, Hershey, Andrew Mione and his wife Lori, Tower City, Elaine, wife of the late Scott Null, Tower City, and Victoria and her husband Tim Koppenhaver, Orwin; 10 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held Sunday afternoon, February 25, 2024 from 4-6 pm from the chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc., Tower City. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, February 26, 2024 at 10:30 am from Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Chapel, 840 E Grand Avenue, Tower City with Father Johnson as celebrant. Burial will be in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A luncheon and Celebration of Joyce's Life will begin at 1:30 pm at the Italian Lodge, Hershey.
