Justus Bard, III Obituary

Justus F. "Jesse" Bard, III, 58, of Williamstown passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 29, 2024 in Arizona.

Born in Lancaster on March 20, 1966, he was the son of the late Justus F. Bard II and Christine Lundgren Bard.

He was a 1984 graduate of Line Mountain High School, Herndon, PA.

He was of the Christian faith and loved sharing his wisdom, biblical knowledge, and God’s love with others.

Jesse was an entrepreneur and the proud owner of his company, The Trailer Expert. His meticulous work ethic and dedication to quality work was appreciated by those he worked for and with.

He was a founding member of Hope's Haven Camp - a Christian camp dedicated to the spiritual growth and healing of children who are or have been in the foster care system. He volunteered at the camp from 2008-2022 where he served as mentor, executive director, and board member. He was instrumental in spreading the word of God to the children.

Jesse had a passion for trains and had a special interest in covered bridges. He loved to travel, exploring new places, and enjoyed kayaking, reading, and learning about history and how things worked. Jesse found joy in all types of cars and four-wheelers and was always ready for an adventure.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Bard Ott.

Surviving are his two children, David Doherty and his wife Danielle, Hegins, and Rachel Bard, Danville; his sister, Cindy Bard Jones, Wiconisco; nieces and nephews, Chrisandra Bright, Robert Jones, Joseph Jones, Catie Rebuck, and Holly Heitzman; numerous aunts, cousins, great nieces and great nephews and many friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Reigles Bible Fellowship, Millersburg with Reverend Benjamin Brown officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11 at the church. A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow in the church social hall. Jesse will be laid to rest beside his parents in the Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery in Lancaster at a later date.
