Karen K. Neagley, 67, of Elizabethville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Penn State Health Hershey Medical Center after a brief illness.
She was born in Harrisburg on July 30, 1958, and was the daughter of Germaine Smeltz Keiter & Leonard Keiter (deceased).
Karen was a graduate of Halifax High School and dedicated her career to public service. She spent the majority of her career working for the Social Security Administration’s Area IV office as an administrative assistant. She also worked for the Dauphin County Conservation District where she forged a lifelong devoted friend Marjie Hartz.
Outside of her professional life, Karen was deeply devoted to her family and their dream of farming—raising crops and, most especially, her beloved goats. She was a lifelong supporter of 4-H, first as a club member, then as a parent, and later as a mentor to young members through market goat projects. Her commitment to youth, agriculture, and community was central to her identity.
She is survived by her husband, William E. Neagley, with whom she would have celebrated 47 years of marriage on November 18; her son, David W. Neagley of Manhattan, NY; her mother, Germaine Keiter of Halifax; her sister, Dr. Karel Keiter of Harrisburg; and her brothers, Matthew (Denise) Keiter and Seth Keiter, both of Halifax. She is also survived by a niece, Anya Held.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 11:30 am from St. John's Cemetery, Berrysburg. A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow at the adjoining church social hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110, or the Claire Hartman Gratz Fair Scholarship Foundation Gratz Fair, P.O. Box 204, Gratz, PA 17030. In both cases, please indicate on the memo line that it is a memorial contribution.
