Kenneth J. Schlegel, 60, of Lykens, passed away unexpectedly early Friday morning, April 4, 2025 at his home.
Born in Harrisburg on June 28, 1964, a son of the late Charles and Ann Kroh Schlegel. He was a member of the Millersburg High School Class of 1983.
Ken proudly served with the Pennsylvania National Guard from 1982-1987.
In his younger years, he was known as the cable guy. Starting in 1987, he worked for many different companies. Ken enjoyed this work for 20 years.
He was a member of the American Legion Riders where he also served as historian.
Ken enjoyed riding motorcycles. He rode on countless poker runs throughout the year. In his free time he enjoyed camping with his family and tending his fish tanks and pond. Ken also enjoyed listening to music, especially Pink Floyd, The Beatles, and Collective Soul. He appreciated a good stereo system. Ken will be remembered for his love of food, cooking and his artistic abilities, all of which he passed down to his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an uncle he was very close to, William Kroh.
Surviving are his three children, Sonya Lee Barge (Nathan), Benjamin James Schlegel, and Kali Leeanne Schlegel, all of Lykens; three grandchildren, Brody Benjamin Barge, Braxton Charles Barge, and Amara Christina Ann Barge; three siblings, Lisa Rothermal, Lykens, Connie Balliot, Milton, and Tommy Schlegel, Milton; his former wife, Tina Schlegel, Elizabethville.
A Celebration of Ken's Life will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Tower City. Visitation will be from 10-11 at the chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dimon Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 644 E Grand Avenue, Tower City, PA 17980 to help with expenses.
