Linda "Lin" Aukstakalnis Obituary

Linda L. "Lin" Aukstakalnis, 77, of Williamstown, passed away unexpectedly early Tuesday morning, April 23, 2024 at UPMC-Harrisburg surrounded by her family.

Born in Lykens, June 1, 1946, a daughter of the late Ceylon and Miriam Pinkerton Minnich. Lin was a 1964 graduate of Upper Dauphin High School.

She was employed for many years at the former Lebro Shirt Factory, Lykens. Following the closing of Lebro, she worked for several years at  Valley Precision Tool & Technology, Tower City.

Lin was of the Catholic faith. She was a social member of the Williamstown American Legion and looked forward to spending time with her friends every morning.  She was also a social member of the Williamstown Liberty Hose Co. and the Williamstown VFW.

Lin's life revolved around her family. She adored her three granddaughters and loved being their MeMe. She could often be found cheering on Notre Dame football and always looked forward to her beach and shopping trips.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Michael "Punk" Aukstakalnis, 1996, her long time companion, Jim Bopp, 2022, two sisters, Rita Snyder and Judy Zimmerman; two brothers, Ceylon "Dave" Minnich and Jack Minnich.

Surviving are her two children, Amy Kobularik and her husband Joe, Tower City and Tony Aukstakalnis and his wife Greer, Williamstown; three granddaughters, Meg and Ella Kobularik and Grace Aukstakalnis; a sister Dawn Russelavage and her husband Randy, Tower City, a brother, Michael Minnich and his wife Sue, Curtin. Nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 11:00 am from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc., Tower City. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Williamstown. Visitation will be from 10-11 am at the chapel.   

Memorial donations in Lin's name can be made to the Williamstown Liberty Hose Co, 225 West Broad Street, Williamstown, PA 17098.
