Lois Kratzer Obituary

Lois Elaine Kratzer, 87, of Elizabethville, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, March 7, 2023 at UPMC-West Shore.

Lois was born in Berrysburg, November 21, 1935, a daughter of the late Elroy and Mary Kulp Baker. She was a graduate of the former Berrysburg High School and Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she received her Bachelor's degree in Education.

Lois was a retired Home Economics teacher at the Upper Dauphin Area School District.

She was a very active member of the Salem Lutheran Church, Elizabethville, where she could always be found volunteering and helping wherever needed. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.

Lois will be remembered for her love of dancing, traveling, theater, and shopping. She could often be found socializing and playing cards, especially Bridge, with her many dear friends. Above all, Lois's family was her world.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Louis J. Kratzer, 2000; a brother, Lee Baker; two sisters, Ruth Travitz and Mary Petroski.

Surviving are her three children, Scott Kratzer and his wife Connie, Elizabethville, Laurie Little and her husband Jack, Gratz, and Eric Kratzer and his wife Faith, Dickson, CA; a sister Ann Brackbill, State College; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren.

Services will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the Salem Lutheran Church with the Rev. Deacon Kenneth Campbell officiating. Visitation will be from 9-11 at the church. A luncheon and time of fellowship will be held in the church social hall immediately following the service.   Lois will be laid to rest at the convenience of the family in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Elizabethville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Lois's memory can be made to the Salem Lutheran Church, 205 W Main St, Elizabethville, PA 17023 or the Elizabethville Library, 80 N Market St, Elizabethville, PA 17023.
