Mark Hoover Obituary


Mark H. Hoover, 89, of Lykens, passed away Sunday, June 13, 2021 at UPMC- Pinnacle, Harrisburg.
 
Born in Muir, September, 18, 1931, a son of the late Paul and Dorothy Updegrove Hoover.   He was a graduate of the former Porter Tower High School.  Mark was an Army Veteran of the Korean War.
 
He was a retired desk clerk from Tallman Supply Company, Muir.  
 
He was a faithful member of the Lykens United Methodist Church, a member of Lykens Fire Company, Gratz VFW and the Williamstown American Legion.
 
Mark was an avid gardener, who took great pride in the vegetables he grew.  He always enjoyed when his grandchildren came to visit with his "grand dogs"
 
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie E. Welker Hoover, May 10, 2020; two brothers, Floyd and Herbert Hoover; a step-brother, Clarence Unger.
 
Surviving are his daughter, Janice M. Kibler and her husband, Keith, Lykens; two grandchildren he adored, Kevin Kibler, North Carolina and Marissa Kibler, Chambersburg; two sisters-in-law, Jenny Hoover, Aston, PA and Pauline Hoover, Virginia.  Nieces and nephews.
 
Memorial services will be held on
Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 11:00 am from the Lykens United Methodist Church with Rev. Lori Betsworth officiating.  Burial with military honors will be in the Calvary United Methodist Cemetery, Wiconisco.  Visitation will be from 10 - 11 am at the church.   In lieu of flowers donations in Mark's name should be made to the Lykens United Methodist Church, 527 N. Second Street, Lykens, PA 17048.
