Mary Jane Crissinger, 84, formerly of Dornsife and Elizabethville, passed away suddenly Saturday at Lehigh Valley Medical Center, Allentown from complications of diabetes.
Mary was born and raised in Millersburg on March 25, 1938 a daughter of the late J. Emory and Ida Shoop Sweigard. She was a graduate of Millersburg High School.
Mary assisted her late husband with his business, Crissinger Brothers, Dornsife, dealing with Auto Sales and Erie Insurance. She was also a Notary Public.
She was a very active and faithful member of the Hebron United Methodist Church, Millersburg and belonged to the Women's Club and volunteered wherever needed.
Her life revolved around her family, she was very active with all of her children's activities while they were growing up including; Girls Scouts and being a band parent. Her greatest title was that of being a grandmother, she was an "exceptional spoiler" of her grandsons. They meant the world to her.
Mary was a talented seamstress, who was always willing to make costumes and clothing, working in her garden and planting, canning and freezing. She enjoyed camping with her family at Pine Valley Campground.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel T. Crissinger, February 9, 2002.
Surviving are her two children; Lisa A. Adams and her husband Ricky, Millersburg, Glen D. Crissinger and his wife Billi, Herndon, her two grandsons she adored; Joshua Crissinger and his wife Samantha, Sunbury and Tyler Adams and his girlfriend Kelsea, Charlotte, NC, three sisters; Ellen Trevitz, Millersburg, Laura "Polly" Chandler, Delaware and Willa Lyter, Halifax, three brothers; John I. Sweigard, Mechanicsburg, George Sweigard, Acme, PA and William Sweigard, Millersburg. Nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Cuddles.
The family would like to thank Heritage Mill Personal Care Home for the exceptional care they have given their mother these past 10 months.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 10:00 am from Hebron United Methodist Church, Millersburg with Rev. Rick Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Emmanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Hunters Station. Viewing will be from 9-10 am at the church.
