Mattie J. Witmer, 87, of Carsonville, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, September 21, 2024 at the Hershey Medical Center.
Born in Clearfield, January 13, 1937, a daughter of the late Arthur and Celia Meredith Luzier.
She was a faithful life member of St. James Independent Church, Carsonville.
In her younger years, Mattie enjoyed fishing and hunting with her husband. She also took great pride in her flower garden and loved watching the hummingbirds. Above all else, her family was her world.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Witmer, 2019; a brother, Paul Luzier; a sister-in-law, Mona Jean Luzier; five infant children; an infant grandson.
Surviving are her daughter, Brenda Osman and her husband Dave, Carsonville; her two grandchildren, Alicia Osman, Carsonville, and Andrew Osman and his wife Carrie, Carsonville; a great granddaughter, Leah Jane Osman; a brother, Foster Luzier, Clearfield; a sister-in-law, Marlene Luzier, Harrisburg.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 11:00 AM from the St. James Independent Church, Carsonville. Viewing will be from 9:30-11 at the church. Mattie will be laid to rest in the church cemetery. A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow at the church.
