Michael Pickup Obituary


Michael R. Pickup, 66, of Lykens, passed away Thursday night, February 27th at UPMC - Pinnacle, Harrisburg.
 
Born in Lykens, February 13, 1954, a son of the late George "Bud" and Vera Hertzel Williams.
 
Mike was a 1972 graduate of Upper Dauphin Area High School.
 
He retired as Director of Operations from Thermo King Refrigeration, Scranton.
 
Mike was a member of the Lykens United Methodist Church.
 
He enjoyed traveling and always looked forward to trips across the country every summer. He was a fan of NASCAR, but  above all his family meant the world to him.   He will be forever missed.
 
Surviving are his wife, Suzette Klinger Pickup; three children, Amanda Pickup-Shomper and her husband Corey, Berrysburg; Amber Pickup-Snyder and her husband Cody, Elizabethville and the apple of his eye, his best friend, Jayden Pickup, at home; one brother, Thomas Pickup and his wife Denise, Wiconisco; one sister, Charlene Morgan and her husband Woody, Tower City; four grandchildren, Harper and Macen Burget; Vaughn and Zayne Shomper;  his father-in-law and his mother-in-law, Gurney and Joy Klinger, Valley View.  Nieces and nephews.
 
A  Celebration of Mike's life will be held on Thursday, March 5th at 7:00 pm from the Lykens United Methodist Church, 527 N. Second Street, Lykens, with Rev. Lori Betsworth.   A time of fellowship and light refreshments will follow in the church social hall.   Donations in Mike's name can be made to Autism Speaks at www.autismspeaks.org.   The Dimon Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Tower City has been entrusted with the arrangements.
