Patricia A. “Trish” Barder, 86, of Lykens, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026 at the Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
She was born November 7, 1939 in Lykens, the daughter of John H. and Anna L. (Moffett) Barder.
Trish, as she was known, grew up and was a lifelong resident of Lykens and graduated from Wiconisco High School in 1957. She was a graduate of Lebanon Valley College, St. Joseph School of Nursing and Harrisburg Hospital Anesthesia School and also attended Penn State University.
Trish worked as a nurse for more than 40 years for Holy Spirit Hospital, 13 of which as a Clinical & Didactic Instructor for Harrisburg Anesthesia School and she worked per diem in many surgical outpatient centers in the Harrisburg West Shore areas.
Trish was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, Lykens and was active with Lykens Borough for many years serving on various committees and as licensed health officer.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed solving different logic puzzles and crosswords. Trish traveled around the world and she especially enjoyed her Barder Family summer gatherings at many venues over the past 30 years around the country that included great conversations, varied opinions, occasional arguments but lots of fun. Trish was a generous individual with a quick wit and good sense of humor who always had an open inviting home that was a hub of family activity over the years. Trish’s outdoor passions were white-water rafting and gardening and she always had a stray pet or two that seemed to find their way to her home where they remained.
