Richard Lebo Obituary

Richard James Lebo, 91, of Tower City, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 26, 2023.

Born in Orwin, June 7, 1931, a son of the late Clarence and Ruth Hostler Lebo. He was a 1950 graduate from the former Porter Township High School.

Richard was a master craftsman and owned and operated his own sawmill in Kalmia along with brother Donnie. He could always be found in his workshop and made many beautiful things for his friends and family. He loved the outdoors and getting together with everyone to picnic and party. He loved playing games and his sense of humor was priceless. Richard especially loved watching his own kids as well as his grandchildren and great grandchildren play sports and never missed a game in his younger years.

Family was everything to Richard, and he was never too busy to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. It is a legacy he deeply instilled in his own family. He was excellent at figuring out solutions and could fix or build just about anything. He was a hero and mentor to his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife Shirley Chubb Lebo in 1994 and his beautiful granddaughter Kimberly in 1995. His sister Dorothy (Lebo) 2005, his brothers Donald Lebo, 2003, and Paul Lebo.

Surviving are his son Randal (Cheryl) Lebo, his daughter, Brenda (Tom) Mace and his son Tim Lebo, all of Tower City; five grandchildren, Mike (Jana) Mace, Muir, Matthew (Tameka) Lebo, Williamstown, Kristen (Dave) Wease, Lebanon, Nicole Lebo and fiancee Zack, Tower City, and Danielle Miller, Tower City; ten great grandchildren, Travis and Ethan Lebo, Owen, Mallory, and Lydia Mace, Marla Wease, Mikalah, Kayden, and Paisley Miller, Ambelina Whalen, and twins on the way. He is also survived by his brothers, Harry Lebo, Valley View, Dale Lebo, Grantville, Fred (Dottie) Lebo, New Cumberland, and his sisters Betty Kemmerling, Pine Grove, Carol Lebo, and many nieces and nephews.

Following Richard's wishes, he will be laid to rest privately in the Greenwood Cemetery.
