Obituary

Richard K. "Dick" Reiner, 84, of Tower City, passed away peacefully in his sleep early Sunday morning, September 17, 2023 at home surrounded by his family.

Born in Wayne Township, February 14, 1939, a son of the late Albert and Florence Hummel Reiner.

Dick was a proud United States Marine Veteran.

He was a retired sheet metal worker, with Local Union 19, Philadelphia.

He was a former member and fire chief with the Muir Fire Company. He also previously belonged to the Loyal Order of the Moose, Tower City.

Dick enjoyed camping for over 40 years with his family. In his younger years, he also enjoyed hunting. He always looked forward to his "Wednesday night meetings" with his friends, where a good time was always to be had.

He was preceded in death by his parents, numerous siblings and his beloved dog Max.

Surviving are his wife, Gloria Koch Reiner to whom he was married for 63 years; his three daughters, Beverly Troup (Troy), Muir, Carol Leitzel (Wayne), Tower City, and Susan Lucas (Joseph), Valley View; three grandchildren, Ashley English, Troy Troup, Jr. and Hillary Schwalm; three great grandchildren, Aubrie English and Isabel and Montana Jones; two sisters, Sandra Kissling,Wyomissing, and Candy Bowman, Bethel; nieces and nephews.

Graveside services with military honors will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 11:00 am from the Methodist Cemetery, Muir, with Pastor William Romberger officiating.
