Robert J. Renninger, Sr., 80, of Tremont, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, July 21, 2025 with his family by his side.
Bob was born in Pottsville, January 21, 1945, a son of the late Ephraim and Mary Stine Renninger.
He retired after 44 years with Richmond Screw and Anchor/Dayton Superior, Tremont, where Bob belonged to the United Steel Workers Union.
He was a member of Most Blessed Trinity Catholic Parish, Tremont, the Tremont Area Senior Citizens, where he enjoyed taking numerous trips with his wife and friends, and he was a life member of the Black Rock Hunting Club where he was recognized for being a member for over 50 years. Bob was also a member of the Newtown Fish and Game Club. He enjoyed being in the outdoors, whether it be hunting, fishing, or just taking in the nature. He was an avid NASCAR fan, always looking forward to his yearly trip to Florida with Linda to Daytona. Bob enjoyed collecting trains and had an impressive collection. Above all, his family was the center of his world. He will be deeply missed.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Renninger, Jr.; two grandchildren, Jessica and David Renninger; a brother-in-law, Ronnie Weiner; a sister-in-law, Alice Chupick.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Linda Chupick Renninger, whom they would have celebrated 60 years of marriage in September; two children, Michael Renninger, Tremont, and Melissa Wessner and her husband Wade, Pine Grove; three grandchildren, Kaelen Wessner, Megan Griffiths and her husband Andrew, and Lauren Wessner; a sister, LouAnn Weiner, Newtown; a sister-in-law, Lisa Boris and her husband Michael, Shenandoah; two brothers-in-law, Tom Chupick, Florida and Jack Chupick, Tremont. Several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 11:00 am from Most Blessed Trinity Parish. Visitation will be from 10-11 am at that the church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
