Robert D. Sloan, 66, of Gratz, passed away Sunday evening, October 6, 2024 at his home with his family by his side.
Bob was born in Philadelphia on Friday, September 5, 1958, a son of the late Robert H. Sloan and Scharlet Michaels Miller.
He was a graduate of the the Milton High School. He was a United States Air Force Veteran.
Bob was a retired electrician from Bucknell University.
He was an avid fan of Penn State Football and the Philadelphia Phillies. He enjoyed going out and about, and always looked forward to trips with his family, whether it be hunting, camping or going to Knoebels.
Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Dawn M. Boyer Sloan; a daughter, Crystal Brosius (Richard) and a son, Robert Sloan, Jr., both of Northumberland; two stepsons, James Nunley (Skip), Florida and Joseph Nunley (Cheryl), Harrisburg; two sisters, Janice Lease, Watsontown and Frances Sloan, Catawissa; eleven grandchildren; several nephews and nieces, including Megan Mench, whom Bob was very close to.
A funeral procession will leave the Dimon Funeral Home, Tower City at 12:45 pm on Thursday, October 17, 2024 for Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Services with military honors will be held at 1:30 pm.
