Shirley E. Challenger, 91, of Williamstown, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2020 at UPMC-Pinnacle, Harrisburg.
She was born in Wiconisco, March, 3, 1929, a daughter of the late Howard and Mildred Bowerman. She was a graduate of the former Wiconisco High School.
Shirley worked in the office for many years at the former Lebro Shirt Factory, Lykens.
She was a member of the Lykens United Methodist Church. Shirley enjoyed gardening and watching birds in her yard, especially looking for cardinals. She had a great love for Pomeranian dogs, owning many over the years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Bernard J. Challenger, October 25, 2009.
Surviving are her loyal nephew, Mark V. Challenger and his wife Linda, Williamstown. She is also survived by several other nephews and nieces; great nephews and nieces, including Jody and Megan Carl, whom were Shirley's caregivers.
Following Shirley's wishes, she will be laid to rest at the convenience of the family from the Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, Williamstown.
