Shirley M. Umholtz-Nolte, 90, of Gratz, formerly of Dauphin, passed away, Wednesday, September 9th at her home.
Born in Williamstown, September 25, 1929, a daughter of the late John and Esther Machamer Boyer.
Shirley attended Williamstown High School. She was a retired tax examiner with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Revenue.
Shirley enjoyed being active in the community, she volunteered with Middle Paxton Township Senior Transportation and also enjoyed cooking and baking for community events. Everyone enjoyed her homemade candy. Shirley will be remembered for her love for her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she held a special place in her heart for them.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two husbands, William Umholtz, 1986 and George Nolte, 2000.; a son, William Lee Umholtz, 1953 and a sister Merl Thompson, 2018.
Surviving are her daughter, Melodee S. Turner, Dauphin; two grandsons, Chad Turner (Leslie), Muncy and Christopher Turner (Jill), Dauphin; five great grandchildren, Luke, Nicholas, Caleb, Leia and Cayden; one sister, Faye Thompson, Mechanicsburg; one brother Jack Boyer, Williamstown. Nieces and nephews.
