Stephen W. Kolva, 65, of Elizabethville, passed away Monday, December 13, 2021 in a logging accident while working in Maryland.
Steve was born in Harrisburg, October 15, 1956, a son of the late Samuel W. and R. Elaine Porterfield Kolva. He was a 1975 graduate of Upper Dauphin Area High School.
He was a self employed logger.
Steve was a member of Emmanuel Wesleyan Church, Gratz.
He was an avid train collector and belonged to the Train Collectors Association. He enjoyed being in the outdoors, kayaking with his daughter and granddog, spending time with his loved ones and going for breakfast with his family and friends. Steve had a strong work ethic and was always willing to help his family and friends. He will be deeply missed.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Glen Kolva.
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Nancy N. Kitner Kolva; two daughters, Janelle R. Deptula and her husband David, Springfield, Virginia and Stefanie E. Kolva, Elizabethville; a sister, Susan Kolva, Elizabethville. He is also survived by three grandsons as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 11:00 am from Emmanuel Wesleyan Church, Gratz with Pastor David Bubb officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Viewing will be from 10-11 am at the church.
