Stephen J. Recchione, 58, of Tower City, passed away very unexpectedly, Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at the Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
Born in Philadelphia, May 5, 1964, a son of the late Chris Jr. and Lillian Lewis Recchione. Steve was a 1982 graduate of Williams Valley High School.
Steve owned and operated Steve's Autobody in Hegins for the past 33 years - a business he took great pride in and dedicated many hours to.
Without a doubt, Sprint Car Racing was a huge part of Steve's life. From racing with his sons to owning his own car, it was a passion second to none. He was the sponsor of the ZEMCO Sprint car for over 30 years. For the past eight years, he was the owner of Recchione Racing.
Steve's motto was, "Work Hard, Be Successful and Take Care of Your Family." He lived by these words and his family was his world.
Surviving are his wife, Robin Black Recchione to whom he would have celebrated 13 years of marriage in June; two sons, Stephen Jr. and Dustin Recchione, both of Tower City; a stepson, Kristopher Swartz, Hegins; a stepdaughter, McKenzie Swartz, New Cumberland; a brother, Chris Recchione III (Becky), Delaware; a nephew Christopher Recchione IV; three grandchildren he adored, Sophia and Kalani Swartz and Noah Zampelli. Steve is also survived by his beloved dog and companion, Harper, many friends, and his racing family.
Family and friends are invited to a public visitation on Saturday, April 1, 2023, from 1-3 PM at the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Tower City.
Steve will be laid to rest privately in the Greenwood Cemetery with his parents. A Celebration of Life Service will be announced at a later date.
