Terry L. "Itch" Witmer, 74, of Tower City, passed away Saturday night, October 7, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born in Tower City, July 19, 1949, a son of the late Kenneth and Mae Gongloff Witmer.
Itch was retired from Lowes Distribution Center.
Itch was a member of the Muir, Sheridan and Donaldson Fire Companies. He was a fan of NASCAR racing, and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He was a jack of all trades and could fix almost anything, even having his own "Witmers Tinker Shop" in his basement.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, William "Billy" Witmer and Justin Witmer; two brothers William C. and Kenneth Witmer; a sister Judy Rutledge.
Surviving are his wife whom he spent the last 38 years with, Barb A. Fisher Witmer; four children, Terry Witmer, Jr., (Ashley English), Tower City, Michael Bender, Muir, Amanda Brancato (Sal), Harrisburg and Jessica Fairburn (Kevin), Tower City; six grandchildren, Brandon Witmer, Skylynn Bender, Maximus Brancato, Brayden, Ethan, and Brynlee Fairburn; a step granddaughter, Kiana Chiles; a sister Bonnie Ruch (Franklin), Tower City; nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Homeland Hospice for the care these past months, especially his nurse Mary Williard.
Memorial services will be held Friday, October 13, 2023 at 11:00 am from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc., Tower City with Pastor Amanda Bressler officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11 at the chapel.
In lieu of flowers donations in Itch's name should be made to the Homeland Hospice, 2300 Vartan Way, Harrisburg PA 17110 or the Muir Fire Company, Church Street, Muir, PA 17957.
