Theda Smith-Slavens Obituary

Theda Jean Smith-Slavens was born on August 16, 1946, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and lived a life defined by love, compassion, and devotion to others. She passed away peacefully in her bed at Tremont Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by the family and friends who loved her dearly.

For her entire career, Theda worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant, dedicating her life to caring for and helping others. Her kindness, patience, and selfless spirit touched countless lives and reflected the way she lived every day.

Above all else, she cherished her family. She was the proud mother of five children: Lisa, Angela, Trina, Deborah, and John. Her legacy continues through her 14 grandchildren and more than 30 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy and pride.

Theda embraced life with enthusiasm and a warm heart. She loved music, dancing, shopping, and spending time with those she loved. She was a talented baker, especially known for her delicious pineapple upside-down cake, and she delighted in teaching her grandchildren how to bake, play cards, and create lasting memories together.

A social butterfly by nature, she never met a stranger and enjoyed sharing stories and laughter with everyone she encountered. She was also a devoted fan of The Pioneer Woman and looked forward to her favorite shows and recipes. One of her favorite pastimes was taking trips to ride the Louisiana casino riverboats, where she enjoyed the excitement and adventure.

Though her family mourns her passing, they find comfort in the countless memories she leaves behind and the lessons of love, generosity, and joy that she shared throughout her life. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Theda Jean Smith-Slavens will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by all who knew and loved her.
