Thomas Bopp, Jr. Obituary

Thomas J. Bopp Jr., 78, of Williamstown, passed away suddenly Wednesday evening, February 11, 2026 at the Orwigsburg Center.

Born in Williamstown, on Monday February 24, 1947, a son of the late Thomas Sr. and Lorraine Hoffman Bopp. He was a 1965 graduate of the Williamstown Catholic High School.

Tom retired after 43 years of employment with the former TRW, Harrisburg.

He was a longtime member of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Williamstown, where he served as the president of the parish council for several years. He was a current member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, Lykens. Tom was also a very active member of Liberty Hose Company #1, Williamstown, where he served as chief of the fire police and served on numerous committees at the fire company. 

Music was a very important part of Tom's life. He belonged to numerous bands in his younger years where he was the lead singer and drummer. He was an avid fan of Penn State football and the Philadelphia Phillies. Tom enjoyed collecting model trains. Above all, his grandchildren brought him immense joy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Bopp, 1987 and a sister, Theresa Flynn, 2009. 

Surviving are his wife, Mary Nace Bopp; five children, Angela Underkoffler (Chris), Klingerstown, Timothy Bopp, Bloomsburg,Tommy Bopp (Christy), New Oxford, Sarah Bopp, Williamstown, and Matthew Bopp (Annie), York; ten grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 11:00 AM from Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, Lykens with Rev. Michael Opaki, AJ, as celebrant. Visitation will be from 10:30-11:00. Tom will be laid to rest in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Williamstown.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Liberty Hose Company #1, 225 W Broad Street, Williamstown in Tom's memory.
