Troy Snyder Obituary


Troy M. Snyder, 58, of Middletown, formerly of Williamstown passed away Monday, June 27, 2022 at Select Specialty Hospital, Harrisburg.
 
Born in Harrisburg, October 9, 1963, a son of the late Ralph "Ike" and Nancy Bostdorf Snyder. 
 
Troy was a proud 1981 graduate of the Valley Forge Military Academy and a 1983 graduate of the Valley Forge Junior College. While at the academy, Troy was an accomplished trumpet player where he was in the band and a member of the Fan Fair Trumpets. He also attended Bloomsburg University. Troy continued his love for playing the trumpet throughout his life and played Taps at many occasions.   
 
Before becoming ill, he was a Die Repairman/Mechanic/Shift Leader with TYCO, Lickdale.
 
He was a member of the Williamstown United Methodist Church.   Troy was an avid sprint car racing fan, and worked as part of the pit crew with Zemco Racing for many years. He was very proud of his Harley Davidson and his mustangs. A huge Penn State fan, always looked forward to the tailgate party at PSU. Troy had a great love of Schnauzer dogs, his dog Misty meant the world to him.    
 
He is survived by his fiancé of 15 years, Lynn Schankweiler with whom he resided, Lynn's two daughters, who he thought of as his own, Laura and Jennifer Boenzli, his two sisters; Lucretia Romberger and her husband Michael, Williamstown and Victoria Miller and her husband Thomas, Bloomsburg. Several nieces and nephews.
 
A Celebration of Troy's life will be held on Monday July 11, 2022 at 11:00 am from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Tower City with Pastor Amanda Bressler officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11 am at the chapel. Private burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Williamstown.
 
In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Kidney Foundation of Central Pennsylvania, 900 Arlington Avenue, Suite 134-A, Harrisburg, PA 17109.
