W. Ross McIntire

W. Ross McIntire, 74, of Emmitsburg, Maryland, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025 at the Gardens at West Shore, Camp Hill.

Born in Lexington, Kentucky on Friday, July 14, 1950, a son of the late Lawrence and Margaret Mobley McIntire. He was a 1968 graduate of the Wheaton High School in Wheaton, Maryland. He also attended Montgomery Junior College.

Ross was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Emmitsburg MD.

During the 1970's, he was an actor with the Folger Theater and taught classes at the Folger Shakespeare Library. After he sold the marketing and fundraising company he confounded and managed in Washington D.C., Outreach Affiliates, in the late 1990's he devoted the rest of his life to Drug and Alcohol Addiction Counseling. Outreach Affiliates also served as employment for many people who were at a crossroads in their lives, and this was an extremely important part of who Ross was. He touched countless lives.

In his younger years, he enjoyed traveling and public speaking. Ross was a friend of Bill W. and helped many people throughout the years. His friendships meant everything to him, and he loved helping others.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Laura McIntire-Stout, 2010.

Ross is survived by his sister, Leslie McIntire, Washington DC; cousins, Linda Evans Rucker (Mike), Crossville, TN, Paul Evans, Everett, WA, Betsy Saunders (Ron), Everett, WA, Libby Blair, Louisville, KY, and Michelle Culver, Louisville, KY; many close friends - too many to mention.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 10:00 AM from the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 47 DePaul St., Emmitsburg, MD 21727. Burial will be private.
