Wilda Frew, 85, of Tremont, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at her home.
Born in Tremont, December 12, 1936, a daughter of the late Albert and Evelyn McCaughey Ochs.
Wilda was a 1954 graduate of the former Tremont High School. Following graduation she worked as a secretary for the FBI in Washington DC for several years.
She was a secretary at the former Miss Pennsylvania Garment Factory, Pottsville and was also a payroll secretary at the former JE Morgan Knitting Mills.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Tremont. She enjoyed being surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren whom she was very proud of. Her hobbies included knitting and playing cards.
She will be missed by her family and and her dog Peony.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald J. Frew, March 28, 2018.
Surviving are her three children, Gerald O. Frew, Tremont, Cindy Workman (Jamie), Williamstown and Scott Frew (Amy), Tremont. Three granddaughters, Tiffany Gilbert, Keisha Hummel and Keara Suprock. Three grandsons, Jamie Workman II, Scott M. Frew and Steven Frew. Nine Great Grandchildren. Her sister and best friend, Genevieve Leininger, Tremont. Nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 3:00 pm from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc, Tower City. Visitation will be from 2-3 pm at the chapel. Private burial will be in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
