Wilson L. Straub

Wilson L. Straub, 83, a lifelong resident of Klingerstown, passed away Saturday evening, September 6, 2025 at the home of his son and daughter-in-law in Muir.

He was born in Klingerstown, on Saturday, July 18, 1942, a son of the late Elvin Straub and Loretta Williard Hatter. 

Wilson was the owner and proprietor of Wilson Straub & Son Plumbing and Heating, Klingerstown, for over 57 years. 

He was a charter and active member of the Calvary Church, Lykens, as well as a member of the Klingerstown Fire Company, and Woodmans of the World, Pitman.

Wilson was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fly fishing. He always looked forward to Fridays at the Gratz auction, where he could always be found striking up a conversation with just about anyone. He especially enjoyed speaking Dutch to others. Wilson also had a talent for tap dancing, and he possessed a work ethic second to none. He loved going out to eat, with Red Lobster being his favorite. He will be fondly remembered for his one of a a kind sense of humor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorene Smith Straub, 2013.

He is survived by two sons, Richard A. Straub, and his wife Tara, Muir, and Robert L. Straub, and his wife Rosane, Florida; two grandchildren, Fallon Kukuk, and Nathaniel Straub and his wife Valerie; four great grandchildren, Caleb, Hazel, Jonah, and Maggie.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home with his sons, Robert and Richard Straub officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11. Wilson will be laid to rest privately in the Northumberland Memorial Park, Sunbury.
