Erma E. Hand, 101, formerly of Muir and Tower City, passed away Sunday afternoon.
Born in Donaldson, August 10, 1915, a daughter of the late David and Mame Hoppstetter Seiger.
Erma was a retired self employed beautician. She had also been a payroll clerk in the garment industry.
She was a graduate of the former Tremont High School.
Erma was a very active member of the St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Reinerton, where she was a former member of the ELCW, choir, and a Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of the Orwin Fire Company Auxiliary and the Glen Chapter of the Eastern Star, Lykens.
Erma was honored for having over fifty years of consecutive voting, having seen over twenty-two Presidential terms, which she was very proud of.
She was predeceased by her husband, William "Larry" Hand, 1976; a daughter, Marcia Cooper, 2011; a son William Hand, 2016; brothers, Paul and Fred Seiger; sisters, Eleanor Bolton, Cathryn Kauffman and Rita Miller.
Surviving are her 6 grandchildren, including Kelli Clouser, Erma's caregiver; 7 Great Grandchildren; a son Paul Hand (Darlene); and a daughter-in-law, Kathryn Mary Hand. Nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 26th at 11:00 am from St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Reinerton with Rev. Warren Egebo. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. Viewing will be from 10-11 at the church. In lieu of flowers donations should be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Wiconisco Street, Tower City PA 17980.
