Ralph F. Gable, 89, of Tower City, peacefully passed away in the company of his son on February 9 at Spring Creek Rehabilitation Center in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. 
 
He was born, son of Robert and Lottie Mae Gable on May 17, 1926, in Orwin, Pennsylvania.  He is a veteran of WWII having served in the Army as a tactical field radio operator in the European Theater of Operations.  He received one battle star for the Central European Campaign.  After returning to the United States he worked at Olmstead Air Force Base, Middletown, Pennsylvania, as an electrician.  After the closure of Olmstead Air Force Base he went to work in New Jersey at Fort Monmouth as a procurement specialist retiring in 1980. 
 
He enjoyed retirement, engaging in politics, volunteer church work, restoring antique cars, jewelry making, painting ceramics, calligraphy, and other hobbies too numerous to mention. 
 
He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Reinerton, the VFW, the American Legion, and the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association.
 
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Agnes (Denkowicz) Gable, a son, Robert A. Gable and partner Jim Hall of Harrisburg,  a daughter, Barbara R. Lashley and husband William of Jackson, New Jersey, niece Jane (Gable) Klippa, of Hummelstown,  and numerous nieces and nephews. 
 
A church service will be held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Reinerton,  on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.  Burial with military honors will be at  Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers, donations to Make a Gift to Penn State Hershey (giveto.pennstatehershey.org) would be gratefully appreciated.  Dimon Funeral Home & Cremations Services, Tower City has been entrusted with the arrangements.   To sign the guest book visit www.dimonfuneralhome.com.
