Gruncle Harlan will be greatly missed but never forgotten. All the things he taught me as a young boy every time every time we hiked the mountains and showed me new things were a great part of my life and very grateful for everything that will be passed on to my children

He waited a long time to be with "Beat". He can walk in the mountains again and name the kinds of trees, edible bark, and berries; he can listen for the tree frogs and cicadas and watch the "dance of the fireflies" with Sam, his dog.

Mr. Harlan Davis was one of the most caring, thoughtful, and funny people that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. From the first day I met Harlan I knew he was going to be my "favorite". Never a day would go by that he didn't have a smile, story, or a song, just anything to make my day special. His love of family was evident in his stories and his drawing book. You guys are lucky to have had such a special dad. Although my heart is broken I have peace in knowing Harlan is no longer suffering and is in a better place, Condolences to the entire Davis family for heaven has truly gained a very special angel.

Harlan was one of the most wonderful men I have ever known. And I have the great pleasure of saying he is the great grandfather of my children. I know he will be missed by many, myself included. I will always treasure the many long walks on the mountain we all took together. I couldn't have asked for a better grandfather and role model for my girls. We love you forever pap.
