Mary "Janice" Black, 91, of the Polk Apartments, Millersburg, formerly of Williamstown, passed away Sunday, June 11th at the Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence, Harrisburg.
Born in Tower City, April 25, 1926, a daughter of the late Wilfred and Agnes Morgan Miller.
Janice was a graduate of the former Tower City High School. She was a retired seamstress from the garment industry.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Williamstown and the Parish Council of Catholic Women. She was also a social member of the Williamstown American Legion.
She was predeceased by her husband Joseph J. Black, Sr., 1996; a sister, Freda Kute and daughter-in-law, Lindy Black.
Surviving are her two children, Joseph Black, Jr., Jonestown and Patti Sass and her husband Michael, Harrisburg. Three grandchildren, Kristen Martinenza, Cory Sass and David Black; three great grandchildren, Jordan Sass, Emma Martinenza and Carter Sass; a sister, Joan Naples, Dillsburg. Nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 15th at 11:00 am from Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations should be made to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110. Dimon Funeral Home, Inc. has been entrusted with the arrangements.
